Things to do when you loose your Peace and Joy

Everything in your life can be going along just fine, and then something happens that gets you all upset. What I do is read the 91st Psalm everyday that I need to. While I read it, I change the words so it becomes more personal to me. Lets take verse #3 as an example:

Psalms 91
For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

I read it this way: "For [then] He will deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence."

The Hebrew word for dwells in the first verse is yashab, and it means to sit down, to dwell, to remain; to settle in the sense of taking up a homestead or staking out a claim and resisting all claim-jumpers; to possess a place and live therein.

This tells me that you can choose to dwell in God's secret place, under the shadow of the Almighty! I choose to, don't you?

When you have a situation in your life, and you have a lot of negative feelings, tell God all about them. David was always very honest with him about how he felt. Ask for his help with your hurts and negative feelings.

This is something that I do in my personal prayer life when I am feeling down. I ask God to lift me on that Rock that is higher than I am. See Psalms 61:2

The Bible instructs us to direct our thoughts by thinking on whatsoever is true, of good report, and positive things in our life. When you start doing that, your focus comes off of your negative feelings, and you begin to feel better.

Phil. 4:8 Amplified

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

You have to learn to discipline your thought life, and watch what you say also. The bible teaches that death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21) You can still be honest about things, but be sure to follow your thoughts up with a positive thought. A lot of David's Psalms started out with him being in great distress, but by the end of it, He was telling of God's faithfulness and His great power and His Love.

For example, I have been hurting in my shoulders and lower back. When a friend asked me how I was feeling, I told her the truth, but I told her also that I was believing God to take care of it. A lot of people don't know how to pray for you if you aren't honest with them. You can also say it like this, "I have been having symptoms of my back and shoulders hurting, but by Jesus' Stripes I am healed."

1 John 5:18

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

So, Child of God, know that He has empowered you to "keep" yourself. He has given you the power to become His son. The Bible tells us, that "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." You have the greater one living inside of you.

To actually learn what you are "In Christ Jesus" every time you read your bible and you come to a verse with that phrase, simply confess it. A good idea would be to write it down, so it will go into your spirit better. I learned that from Kenneth E. Hagin, while watching some of his videos on Youtube.

God's Generals

God's Generals by BSASciti

The Disease of Sin

11 Thus says the Lord of hosts: Ask now the priests to decide this question of law:

12 If one carries in the skirt of his garment flesh that is holy [because it has been offered in sacrifice to God], and with his skirt or the flaps of his garment he touches bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any kind of food, does what he touches become holy [dedicated to God's service exclusively]? And the priests answered, No! [Holiness is not infectious.]

13 Then said Haggai, If one who is [ceremonially] unclean because he has come in contact with a dead body should touch any of these articles of food, shall it be [ceremonially] unclean? And the priests answered, It shall be unclean. [Unholiness is infectious.] Haggai 2:11-13 AMP.

I found something very interesting tonight in my bible reading. Haggai 2: 11-13. Unholiness is infectious and holiness is not. Sinfulness can rub off on us, like a disease. Another scripture says that it is the little foxes that spoil the vine. Song of Solomon 2:15

You have to work at not catching the sin disease. God loves us so much that he gave us the choice. He doesn't force us to stay free from bondages. We have to decide and choose to do so.

The Apostle Paul wrote to us to lay aside every weight and every sin that so easily besets us. Hebrews 12:1 To me, that implies that we have the power to do that. I found this interesting and wanted to share it with you.
